Tips on transporting your Christmas tree
This is a prime time to grab the handsaw and head to the nearest Christmas tree farm. If you have an SUV, we have a few tips to help you transport your Christmas tree. Keep reading to learn how.
Prep your vehicle
If you plan on using the inside of your SUV, there are a few things to keep in mind. Make sure to remove anything from your SUV that is unnecessary for your trip. Once you have cleared everything out, put down a blanket and cover as much area as you can. You do not want to get the tree needles and sticky resin marks all over.
Bring along straps or ropes
Whether you have the tree on your rooftop or strapped in your vehicle, you want to make sure it is secure. Never use a bungee cord since it is so flexible, you may lose your tree if you have to do a quick stop. Ask the tree farm if they have a net for the tree to prevent any scratches on the roof of your vehicle.
Try not to drive when it is dark out. If you do, make sure the tree is visible to other road users, so it is not a risk to anyone. Always make sure the tree is not restricting your view.
